The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake launches November 5 on Switch 2. Here's the official price in every region, the digital wallpaper bonus deadline, the file size, the UK midnight launch and whether to buy digital or physical.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake launches on Thursday, November 5, 2026, exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. The digital version costs $59.99 / £49.99 / €59.99, the physical version is $69.99 on Nintendo's US store, and buying digitally before November 23 gets you a free 40th anniversary wallpaper.
Here's everything you need before launch day: when you can play, what it costs in each region, how much storage to clear, and which version to buy.

Ocarina of Time remake release date and time
Release date: November 5, 2026 on Nintendo's US, UK and European stores.
Unlock time: Nintendo hasn't published an exact time for the digital release or confirmed a preload window, so check your eShop page in the days before launch.
UK midnight launch: Nintendo is holding an official midnight launch at the Nintendo Experience Zone inside Argos on Tottenham Court Road, London, on the evening of Wednesday, November 4. If you buy the game there, you get:
- A replica Nintendo 64 box based on the original UK box art, with an inner tray and slipcase that fits the Switch 2 game
- An Ocarina key ring
Both are while supplies last, so if you're planning to go, get there early.
How much does the Ocarina of Time remake cost?
Official Nintendo eShop prices for the digital version:
| Region | Digital price |
|---|---|
| United States | $59.99 |
| Canada | CA$84.99 |
| United Kingdom | £49.99 |
| Germany / France (eurozone) | €59.99 |
| Australia | AU$94.95 |
In the US, Nintendo's own store sells the physical edition for $69.99, so going digital saves you $10 and comes with the wallpaper bonus below. Retailer prices for physical copies vary, so check before you order.
Digital early purchase bonus

Nintendo's US store lists a digital-only early purchase bonus:
- What you get: a Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary digital wallpaper, in several formats for different screens.
- Deadline: buy the digital version before November 23, 2026, 11:59 p.m. PT (that's 7:59 a.m. GMT on November 24).
- How it's delivered: after the promotion ends, Nintendo emails a My Nintendo download link to the address on your Nintendo Account.
It's an early purchase bonus, not a pre-order exclusive, so you can still qualify if you buy on launch day or any time before the deadline. Don't expect the wallpaper right away, though. The link only goes out once the promotion period is over.
Ocarina of Time remake file size
| Store | Listed size |
|---|---|
| Nintendo US (estimate) | 27GB |
| Nintendo UK | 24.5GB |
Nintendo's US page still shows 27GB as an estimate and notes that download size may not be final at the time of preorder, while the UK page lists 24.5GB. Plan for the bigger number. On a 256GB Switch 2, clear at least 27GB plus a few gigabytes of headroom for a day-one update and temporary install files.
Digital vs physical: which should you buy?
| Digital | Physical | |
|---|---|---|
| US price | $59.99 | $69.99 (Nintendo store) |
| 40th anniversary wallpaper | Yes, if bought before Nov 23 | No |
| UK midnight launch extras (N64 box replica, key ring) | No | Yes, at the London event while stocks last |
| Nintendo Account family-group lending | Supported | n/a |
Go digital if you want the cheapest price and the wallpaper bonus. Go physical if you want something on your shelf, plan to resell or lend your copy, or can make it to the London launch for the N64-style box.
What's new in the remake

This is a full rebuild for Switch 2, not a port of the 3DS version. According to Nintendo's official page, it adds:
- Completely overhauled visuals, orchestral music, voice acting and expanded cutscenes
- Enhanced controls and modern camera movement, so you can jump and dash through the action
- Ocarina songs you can hum. Play with buttons, or hum or play a real instrument into the Switch 2 microphone
- Motion or button aiming for the Fairy Bow and Hookshot, switchable in Options
- amiibo support: any Zelda series amiibo gives in-game extras, and the new Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo (coming in 2027) unlock retro-style masks
- ZELDA NOTES in the Nintendo Switch App, with daily accomplishments, location-finding challenges and a playable ocarina on your phone
- TV, tabletop and handheld modes, plus HDR and VRR output on compatible TVs
The game is made by Nintendo's own Zelda team. Series producer Eiji Aonuma and Hidemaro Fujibayashi, director of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, served as producers, and HokWai Ng, whose Zelda work began on Tears of the Kingdom, directed it.
