Editorial policies

Our editorial approach

GameTidings aims to make gaming information clear and useful. Our editorial standards prioritize accurate reporting, practical guidance, and a clear distinction between confirmed information, opinion, and speculation.

Sources and verification

For news, we aim to use original announcements, developer statements, patch notes, and other identifiable sources. When reporting information first published elsewhere, we should credit and link to the source. Rumors, leaks, and unconfirmed reports should be described as such.

Guides should explain relevant platform, version, or progression requirements when they affect the instructions. A claim of first-hand testing should only be made when that testing actually took place.

Game codes and updates

Code availability can change quickly. A codes article should distinguish confirmed information from unverified entries and identify known restrictions or expired rewards. We do not guarantee that a publisher will continue to honor a code.

If you find an expired code or an instruction that no longer works, send the article URL and the relevant platform or game version so the issue can be reviewed.

Original work and media

Articles should use original writing and credit quoted or referenced material. Images, screenshots, and videos should be used with an appropriate permission, license, or legal basis, with credit where required. Illustrative images should not be presented as screenshots of a game they do not depict.

AI-assisted drafts require human review before being presented as factual reporting. Generated text must not be used to invent sources, quotations, first-hand testing, or events. Fictional examples and UI test articles must be clearly identified as demonstration content.

Independence and disclosure

Commercial relationships should not determine editorial conclusions. Sponsored material, affiliate links, provided review copies, or other relevant relationships should be clearly disclosed when present. This policy does not mean every article has a commercial relationship.

Headlines should reflect the substance of an article. Major story spoilers should be signposted where practical so readers can decide whether to continue.

Corrections and feedback

We welcome specific corrections. Email the article URL, a description of the concern, and a reliable supporting source where available. Substantive factual corrections should be explained in the article; minor spelling or formatting edits may be made without a separate notice.

For a copyright or other rights concern, identify the relevant material, its location on this site, and how we can contact you. We will review the information provided before deciding whether a correction, removal, or other response is appropriate.
