Reading the website

GameTidings does not require readers to register, sign in, or provide payment details to read articles. This policy describes the information used to operate the site and respond to messages.

Article readership statistics

We count article openings and keep recent article-view times to calculate the Trending list. These analytics records identify the article and the time of the view; they do not contain a reader account, an IP address, a tracking cookie, or a visitor identifier. Repeated visits can be counted separately.

Article totals are retained with the article. Detailed view events older than 72 hours are excluded from Trending and are removed when subsequent views are recorded. If there are no further visits, old events can remain stored until that cleanup runs.

Hosting, security, and external media

Our hosting and delivery provider, Cloudflare, processes technical request information needed to deliver and protect the website. This can include IP addresses, requested URLs, browser information, request times, and diagnostic or security logs. Hosting logs are separate from the article readership statistics described above.

Some articles load images or other media from external providers. Your browser contacts those providers directly, which can disclose technical information such as your IP address, browser details, and a referring page depending on browser settings. External websites and media providers apply their own privacy policies.

Articles may embed YouTube or TikTok videos and X posts. Loading or interacting with these embeds contacts the platform, which may use cookies or similar technologies under its own policies. YouTube embeds use privacy-enhanced mode, and X embeds request restricted personalization; these settings do not prevent all information from being sent to the provider.

We use service providers to operate the site, investigate errors, and protect against abuse. Processing may take place in countries other than your own. We may also disclose information when required by applicable law.

Cookies and administrator access

Our own article readership statistics do not use cookies or third-party audience-tracking scripts. Reading public articles does not require a sign-in cookie. Embedded media providers may use their own cookies as described above.

Administrator sessions expire after at most eight hours or thirty minutes without authenticated article or upload requests. Status checks do not extend these limits. Signing out or clearing the cookie ends access from that browser. On expiration, unsaved edits can remain in the current tab memory for resuming after sign-in; they are not saved as database drafts or in browser storage. Administrator sign-in attempts also use a temporary, hashed network identifier to limit abuse; expired attempt records are removed during subsequent sign-in attempts.

If you email us, your email address, message, and any information you choose to include are used to respond to your request, handle corrections, or resolve a support or rights issue. Email is processed by the email services used to send and receive it. Please avoid sending passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.

Your choices and requests

You can control cookies through your browser and choose whether to contact us or follow external links. Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restrictions on the use of personal information. Contact us to make a request; we may need enough information to verify it.

Because article analytics do not include visitor identifiers, we cannot reliably connect a particular view record to you. We do not sell our article analytics or use them to build individual advertising profiles.
