How to Get the Fortnite Pirate Shop Token: Chests, Best Drop Spots and When to Activate
The Fortnite Pirate Shop Token is a rare random chest reward in Treasure Hunters Battle Royale and is shared with your whole squad. Here is how to farm it, where to land, how to activate Pirate Shop Access, the December 15 deadline, and what the 14 free days do and do not cover.
The short answer: you get the Pirate Shop Token by opening chests in Battle Royale during Fortnite Treasure Hunters. There is no quest, no specific chest and no fixed location. Every regular chest on Crossbones Isle has a small, random chance to pop Pirate Shop Access, and if it does, everyone in your party gets it too. Epic hasn't published the drop rate, so the honest strategy is volume: land somewhere chest-dense, open everything, and play in a full squad.
If you do hit it, you get two activations, one for 2026 and one for 2027. Each one makes everything sold for V-Bucks in the Item Shop free to claim for 14 days, and anything you claim is yours to keep.

How to get the Pirate Shop Token, step by step
- Queue Battle Royale. Treasure Hunters launched on November 1 with the new 80-player Crossbones Isle, and the chest reward is part of Battle Royale.
- Open every chest you see. For this mini season, the regular chests have become treasure chests. You don't need a special chest or a map item.
- Watch the reward. Most chests give you their normal loot, and some also hand out a bonus for your squad. That bonus is usually a Gizmo such as the Sprite Locator or Portable Extractor, occasionally a cosmetic, and very rarely Pirate Shop Access.
- Know what a hit looks like. A winning chest glows and shakes for a few seconds, then bursts in gold, and a "YOU FOUND PIRATE SHOP ACCESS" banner appears on screen.
- Go back to the lobby. A reward screen confirms the access and the two activations.
A Sprite Locator or Portable Extractor is its own reward. It isn't a partial token and can't be upgraded into one.
Best places to land for chest farming
Because the token is pure luck per chest, your only real lever is how many chests you open per match. These Crossbones Isle POIs are the ones players are using as chest routes:
- Arlong Park and Lantern Landing are close together and make a good opening loop. From there you can push on to Windmill Village and Loguetown.
- Plunder Port, Fortune's Fort, Rubber Resort and Busy Bay work as alternatives when the first two are crowded.
None of these spots spawns the token more often than anywhere else. Pick a route that lets you loot quickly and survive long enough to keep opening chests.
How to raise your odds (realistically)
- Play squads with people who are also farming. The reward is shared across the party, so four people opening chests gives every one of you four times the rolls.
- Prioritise chests over fights early. A clean loot route matters more than an early elimination.
- Keep playing on Sundays. Epic is running "Treasure Hours Sundays" through the season with boosted drops. Epic hasn't said whether that affects Pirate Shop Access, so treat it as a bonus rather than a guarantee.
- Ignore exact odds you see online. Figures like "1 in several hundred thousand chests" are guesses, since Epic has not released the number.
- Don't fall for sellers or generators. The prize can't move between accounts, so anyone offering to sell you a token or "activate it on your login" is running a scam.

How to activate Pirate Shop Access
- From the lobby, open the Item Shop.
- Select Plunder the Item Shop. It's in the bottom-right of the shop.
- Choose Activate Now.
- For the next 14 days, eligible items show as free. Claim what you want.
The 14-day clock starts when you press Activate, not when you find the token. You don't have to activate it straight away, but the 2026 activation has to be used by December 15, 2026.
When should you activate it?
Since you can only claim what is in the shop during your window, timing matters. Epic's own schedule for the Treasure Hunters shop is:
| Date (ET) | Arriving in the Item Shop |
|---|---|
| November 1 (launch) | Luffy, Nami, Usopp |
| November 5, 7 PM | A$AP Rocky |
| November 7 | Zoro, Sanji, Chopper Sidekick |
| November 12 | Lil Uzi Vert |
| November 13 | Buggy |
| November 14 | Kasane Teto, Cap'n Hatsune Miku |
If you want the One Piece crew in a single window, activating around November 7 means your 14 days cover Zoro and Sanji through to Miku and Teto. Items that left the shop before your window can't be claimed unless they rotate back.
Remember that you only get one free Sidekick. If you want Chopper, save that slot for him.
What Pirate Shop Access doesn't cover
- Anything bought with real money, including V-Bucks packs and cash bundles
- Gifts for other players
- Battle Pass purchases, levels and pass rewards
- More than one Sidekick
Everything else sold for V-Bucks, including Outfits, Back Blings, Pickaxes, Emotes, Kicks and Jam Tracks, can be claimed for free during the window.
FAQ
Can I get the Pirate Shop Token in other modes?
Every confirmed find so far has come from chests in Treasure Hunters Battle Royale, so that's where to spend your time.
Does my squad really all get it?
Yes. If anyone in your party finds Pirate Shop Access, the rest of the party receives it as well.
Do I lose the skins after 14 days?
No. The window only limits when you can claim. Anything you claimed stays in your locker.
How long can I farm for it?
Epic hasn't given a cut-off date for finding the token. It's tied to Treasure Hunters chests, and Epic has a Chapter 7 end event set for Saturday, December 5, so farm it while the season is live rather than waiting.
